"CEO and senior management commitment is a must if the companies are to gain from the holistic programme offered by the FIP."

- Mr Gotabaya Dasanayaka, Director General EFC Sri Lanka

The Factory Improvement Programme is an innovative and hands-on way to introduce management best practices and proven techniques for increasing productivity, quality and workplace relations.

The programme is designed to be customized to local situations and the standard training material is generic so that it can be applied in a variety of settings. If you would like to get involved in supporting, organizing or delivering a Factory Improvement Programme, please review the information on this page and then contact the ILO FIP project office.

The ILO FIP project office can provide a full-set of training materials to interested parties. The complete package includes:

• FIP Implementation guide and resource pack (a step-by-step approach to setting up and launching a new programme).

• Trainer’s guides for each of the FIP modules, including PowerPoint presentations, activities and additional resources.

• Participant toolbox containing tools for each FIP module.

Supporting the FIP:
If you are a donor and would like to know more about the programme and how it can be expanded to other regions in the world, please contact the ILO FIP project office. The FIP can be tailored for a variety of audiences and is an excellent vehicle to promote fundamental labour principles and develop local capacity to run large-scale training programmes.

If you are an industry expert or trainer and you would like to participate in a local country programme, please see the contact information in the Who are we? section. The FIP is always looking for local experts in the programme topic areas who have experience providing hands-on training and consulting advice.

Implementing the FIP:
If you are an employer’s organization that would like to provide a practical training programme to your members, please contact the ILO FIP project office. You may also want to contact other organizations in your region that provide business support services and who have factory-level training and consulting experience to assist you in running the programme. Collaborations between chambers of commerce and national productivity centres have been successful in previous FIP implementations.
