The Factory Improvement Programme consists of a number of core modules that are introduced over a period of between 6 and 12 months. Each module consists of: • A two-day workshop. • A self-assessment checklist to help factories select improvement projects. • A series of factory visits from the module expert and the local FIP support team. • Four to six weeks for factories to work on projects related to the module topic. During the factory visits, participating factories receive specific advice on how to apply the module principles to their work environment. The factories also form “Factory Improvement Teams” made up of workers and managers to take responsibility for the FIP projects and to ensure that projects are continued beyond the module and the programme. Throughout the programme, leading industry experts and a local support team provide tailored advice to each participating factory. Thanks to this comprehensive step-by-step programme, participating factories are able to implement and maintain practical improvements to their overall competitiveness. | ||||
